b'Dear SOU supporters, faculty,andstaffofSouthernOregonUniversity,theSOUFoundationanditsBoardofTrusteeswish20Onbehalfofthestudents,25to acknowledge and thank the many philanthropic partners who contributed to another record-breaking year of giving to SOU.Some 3,000 donors stepped forward during scal year 2024-25, committing $14.5 million to scholarships, academic programs, faculty development, and athletic facilities to ensure that SOU remains a competitive and accessible university. This generosity is coupled with a 9.78% total return on the endowment, bringing the market value of the endowment and short-term funds to a record $53.4 million. The commitment our donors have to SOU has never been more important, especially following the universitys recent effort to become a smaller yet more focused, responsive, and resilient institution. Gifts help provide a level of excellence that state dollars alone cannot. For example, donors stepped forward to build a new farm-to-school kitchen at the SOU Farm; they helped to develop an innovative academic exchange with a university in Ghana; they built a new piano lab and vocal isolation booth for music students; and they provided funding to support students in our summer STEM research programs.Change is challenging, but we remain condent that our community will embrace SOUs new direction with the same dedication and passion that has dened the institution since 1926. We wholeheartedly believe that by working together SOU will remain a vibrant and important resource for our region and beyond. As always, we appreciate your commitment to the mission and vision of Southern Oregon University.Jim Teece Janet FratellaPresident Vice President of University Advancement, Southern Oregon UniversitySouthern Oregon University Foundation Executive Director, Southern Oregon University Foundation1'
