The Southern Oregon Mathematics League (SOML) was established in 1971 by late SOU professor Ron Steffani in collaboration with Southern Oregon high school teachers. SOML conducts five advanced math competitions for high school students in the Southern Oregon region throughout each school year. It has provided an outlet for dedicated mathematics students to compete and be recognized for excellence for more than 50 years!

This year, we have the opportunity to accomplish two goals to improve SOML with your help:

  1. Host all five SOML meets on the SOU campus. While the 5th and final meet of the year has traditionally been hosted at SOU, the university has an opportunity to host the other four meets as well. This will elevate the experience for participants and support more involvement by SOU math faculty.
  2. Eliminate all team registration fees. Doing away with fees to participate will provide relief to participating high school teachers and make it easier and more equitable for teams around the region to participate.
We need your help to raise $6,000 by the end of September to accomplish these two goals. Please support SOML with a donation today!
